Helping the post office deliver through the storm

This week’s storm has caused delays on the roads, at the airports and in the delivery of mail.

The heavy snow and high winds have been a challenge for letter carriers.

Now they’re asking for you to help them out by clearing out the snow in front of your mail box.

They say taking the time to shovel the snow not only makes it safer for carriers, it also helps speed up the delivery process.

And people have no problem helping out the mail carriers.

Dan Cooper said, “He’s got enough to worry about just driving to get to the spot and then if you’re going to make him walk through a snow front sidewalk and then your steps, and the steps are obviously the most dangerous part and you want to get those cleared as quickly as you can.”

Not only does shoveling the walks help postal workers, it’s actually the law in both Colorado Springs and Pueblo to clear off your sidewalks after it snows.
