Pueblo receives little snow

Snow fell on and off throughout the day in Pueblo, closing businesses and schools. But those who had to travel say the city did a much better job this time around.

“They’re out there taking care of the streets and keeping them icy free,” said Valerie Williams, a Pueblo resident.

“I think they’re a lot more well prepared than what they used to be,” said Tracey McManus, a Pueblo resident.

Public Works Director, Earl Wilkinson, says the city was ready for this one.

“They’ve been spreading sand and salt mixture and just getting the slushy areas off of the road best they can,” said Wilkinson.

Crews didn’t want to get caught like they did earlier this month, when they were forced to play catch up.

“We’d rather have the folks out there and be careful and err on the part of caution,” said Wilkinson.
