UPDATE: Suspect in custody after standoff situation in Calhan

One man is in custody following a barricade situation in Calhan.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office and Calhan police responded to the 1300 block of 8th Street on Saturday morning, after a report of shots fired. The suspect then barricaded himself into his home when deputies arrived.

Officers were able to talk to the suspect, and he was taken into custody without incident.

His identity has not been released, but he is expected to face misdemeanor charges. Several weapons were also seized.
