Backpack prompts bomb scare at Pueblo school

Parents and staff were evacuated from Risley International Academy of Innovation Friday afternoon, but D-60 says students already had the day off.

The district says that a couple of people walked up to a door, dropped off a backpack, and then walked away.

The bomb scare was reported at 12:30 p.m. The backpack was deemed safe at around 1:45 p.m.

D-60 says students had the day off for parent-teacher conferences.

The people who dropped off the backpack have not been identified, but the district says they may have been students.
