Hospital plans breast cancer awareness event

St. Thomas More Hospital is organizing a free girl’s night out with a potentially lifesaving message.

The 4th annual Margaritas and Mammos is scheduled for Monday October 19 from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. It will be held at the Evangelical Free Church at 3000 E. Main Street in Caon City.

The hospital says it encourages women to bring their mothers, daughters, sisters, friends or co-workers as the event will highlight the importance of knowing your family history of breast cancer.

“Now in our fourth year, we’re finding that Margaritas & Mammos is an event that women in our community look forward to each year,” said Jillian Maes, Director of Marketing and Communications at STMH. “We are honored to have our hospital services and community partners come together, all to support the goal of bringing awareness and education to women in our community about breast health including everything from knowing your family history and early detection, to tests, treatment options and support groups available.”

Participants will enjoy a free dinner prepared by St. Thomas More Dining Services, non-alcoholic margaritas, prizes, giveaways and information tables.
