North Slope Recreation Area closes for the season this weekend

PIKES PEAK, Colo. (KRDO) -- The North Slope Recreation Area on Pikes Peak will close for the season this Sunday, Oct. 16.

The area is popular for bikers and hikers and fishing and kayaking on the North and South Catamount Reservoirs.

The area closes each year for the season after the third weekend in October. It reopens each year on May 1.

The area is managed by the City of Colorado Springs.
