Clear Creek rafting accident leaves 1 person dead

Authorities say one person is dead after a rafting accident in Clear Creek just east of Idaho Springs.

The Clear Creek County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called to the area off U.S. Highway 6 at about 11:30 a.m. Friday and found multiple people in the water. CPR was being performed on the victim, who has only been identified as a female.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other information has been released.
