Utah police arrest Springs bank robbery suspect

Colorado Springs Police say a man who threatened to blow up a bank during a robbery here has been arrested in Salt Lake City.

Juan Vergera is accused of robbing a U.S. Bank Branch in the 2800 block of N. Powers Bld. at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday (4/21/15).

Police said the robber demanded cash from a teller while threatening to detonate an explosive device.

Salt Lake City Police arrested Vergara at a hotel after receiving a tip from Springs police.

Vergara faces a charge for robbery. He is being held in Salt Lake City and will be extradited back to Colorado Springs.
