Pawned and layaway guns are being returned to Top Dollar Pawn

KRDO

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The 4th Judicial District Attorney (DA) has said on Twitter that all pawned and layaway guns for Top Dollar Pawn on North Academy Blvd, Highway 50 in Pueblo, and 4th Street in Pueblo have been turned back over to the store.

The DA says that pawned and layaway guns for the South Academy store will be returned by July 24.

This comes after the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) raided the stores back in June.

After police activities concluded, the buildings were turned back to the business, according to CSPD.

The owners of the stores are suspects in a federal money-laundering investigation.

CSPD says that they're part of a joint investigation into a multi-million dollar criminal organization involved in the sale of "large quantities of stolen property" at Top Dollar Pawn. Police say this involves the Colorado Springs and Pueblo locations.

The DA says if you are a customer of one of the stores and have questions regarding your pawned gun, please contact the store.
