Kitten found in garbage truck finds forever home

A kitten rescued from the back of a garbage truck in Pueblo has found a forever home.

Last month, a sanitation worker found a five-week-old kitten named Ruby, now Hermione Hope, in his truck after he heard the sound of a cry.

Sarah Hubbard and Aaron Haiduk fostered Hermione Hope for about a month and decided to adopt her after seeing how close she became to the their other kitten.

“Honestly, it wasn’t much of a choice,” Haiduk said.

“They fell in love with each other and separating them would be heartbreaking,” added Hubbard. “We brought them home and they cuddled together all the time. They were inseparable. They played all the time.”

Hubbard said their new kitten is experiencing her “terrible twos” after just learning how to jump and climb.

“Finding another living thing to connect with– there’s no description. There’s nothing that even slightly compares to it and the amount of love that they bring us and the amount of joy that we bring them — it’s one of the most amazing things that’s ever happened,” Haiduk said.
