It’s going to be a special holiday season for more than a hundred kids in Pueblo

A mountain of gifts is going to make many kids in Pueblo happy for the holidays.

The Sunset Inn and POSADA teamed up to collect gifts for more than 150 kids.

POSADA figured out who needed the gifts through other nonprofit organizations.

Gerda Chavez is the owner of the Sunset Inn and one of the organizers of the drive. She said she started the toy drive to teach her kids a lesson on giving back, but when her son died eight years ago from a car accident she said the drive became a living memorial for her son.

“He was part of it when he was younger, he shopped with us. He was taking care of the boys stuff, we would take care of the girls, he was part of it,” she said.

The gifts will be given out to the kids on Thursday.
