New downtown police station set to open Wednesday

The Colorado Springs Police Department will open a new, limited service station in the heart of downtown Wednesday.

The Peak Station will open its doors at 6 N. Tejon Street at 2 p.m.

The 1300 square foot station will house preexisting police resources, including officers from the downtown area response team and the homeless outreach team. It will also provide workstations for other officers working in the downtown area.

Peak Station will not be a full service police station, but it will include a kiosk that is staffed by volunteers. Public access to the kiosk and its service hours will be limited.
