Three-day Southern Colorado Juneteenth Festival happening at America the Beautiful Park

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Friday kicks off a three-day Juneteenth celebration. At America the Beautiful Park, people can enjoy the Southern Colorado Juneteenth Festival.

According to organizers, the goal of the event is to bring together people from every background and community for a time of celebration, music, and family fun.

The free event will have a fashion show, skating rink, car show, a 5K run, and live music. People can also benefit from a backpack giveaway and food drive.

Below is a schedule of the Southern Colorado Juneteenth Festival:

Friday, June 17th:

  • 4 p.m.-4:10 p.m.: Onebody Ent Opening Statements
  • 4:15p.m.- 5:15 p.m.: JuneTeenth Jaunt
  • 5:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m.: Youth Award Celebration
  • 7 p.m.: Xpressions Beauty Studio JuneTeenth Fashion Show

Saturday, June 18th:

  • 9 a.m.-12 p.m.: Health Fair – Dance Fitness with Natilia
  • 9 a.m.-11 a.m.: Farmers Market and Back to School Give Away
  • 12 p.m.-4 p.m.: Juneteenth Car Show
  • 12 p.m.-2 p.m.: Lil Miss Story hour
  • 3 p.m.-4 p.m.: Poetry 719
  • 4:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m.: Literacy Corner w/ Tray Chaney. Hosted by Dr Nathaniel Granger Jr.
  • 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m.: JuneTeenth Jaunt
  • 7:45 p.m.: Mario

Sunday, June 19th:

  • 12 p.m.-12:15 p.m.: Diversity Council Presentation
  • 12:30 p.m.- 1:30 p.m.: Urban Music Showcase: Hosted by Jemond G
  • 2 p.m.-2:20 p.m.: Father’s Day Tribute
  • 2:30 p.m.-4 p.m.: Gospel in the Park: feat Kandis Pugh Alexander, Sankey Sisters,C2 Mass Choir, and Stephanie Summers
  • 4:15 p.m.-4:45 p.m.: Juneteenth Emancipation Ceremony: Hosted by Dr. Nathaniel Granger Jr.
  • 5:45 p.m.: Tony Exum Jr’s Rhythm N Smooth Experience: feat Tao Soprano, Changing Faces, and Case
