Pueblo County to pay between $12k – $14k to reprint incorrect ballots

PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- Incorrect ballots sent to voters for the Colorado State Primary Ballots will cost Pueblo County thousands of dollars for reprints.

According to our news partners at The Pueblo Chieftain, the county is reprinting 70,000 primary election ballots. The incorrect ballots didn't have all of the categories, including the District 3 Pueblo County commissioner race.

Pueblo County Clerk and Recorder Gilbert "Bo," Ortiz said around 250 voters were sent the incorrect ballot. That includes UOCAVA voters, uniformed military, and overseas voters.

To reprint ballots, Ortiz told The Chieftain the county will have to pay between $12,000 and $14,000.

On June 3, Pueblo County Clerk and Recorder Gilbert "Bo," Ortiz told 13 Investigates voters who received the incorrect ballots will receive a new one with instructions on how to vote using the replacement ballot. Additionally, the County Clerk and Recorder's office can print new ballots on-site.
