Stage 2 Fire Restrictions issued for the City of Fountain; effective May 16

FOUNTAIN, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Fountain Fire Department (FFD) has issued a Stage Two Fire Restrictions due to current and future weather conditions. These restrictions will be effective starting on Monday.

In the City of Fountain, the following acts are prohibited because of the Stage Two Fire Restrictions:

• Recreational Fires/Bonfires
• Charcoal grills/outdoor wood burning stoves
• Outdoor smoking is only allowed in a closed-in vehicle or building
• Using or selling fireworks
• Outdoor blasting, welding or use of acetylene or other torch with open flames are only allowed with permits by the City of Fountain Fire Marshal.

The following acts are allowed:

• Outdoor cooking contained within liquid-fueled or gas-fueled stoves, or electric pellet fed
  smokers.
• Recreational fire pits contained within liquid-fueled or gas-fueled stoves.

Violators of the Stage Two Fire Restrictions may be subject to a maximum $1,000 fine.
