Toddler at center of Pueblo child abuse case dies

The 2-year-old girl at the center of a Pueblo child abuse investigation has died.

Police report Chassie Pietrolungo died just before 3 a.m. Wednesday.

On Aug. 21, the child was taken to the hospital unresponsive. She reportedly sustained her injuries after falling down the stairs.

The girl was in the Fost-Adopt program under the care of 23-year-old Sarah Finn and 36-year-old Paul Finn.

The two were arrested and charged in connection with the case. Sarah Finn is still in jail at the Pueblo County Detention Center.

The case is now a death investigation.
