Black Hills Fire burning in Huerfano County

The Huerfano County Office of Emergency Management says a fire is burning about ten miles northwest of Walsenburg.

The OEM says the Black Hills Fire has burned approximately three acres and is zero percent contained. It is burning in rugged terrain on the Major Ranch subdivision and was reported at around 2:30 p.m.

The cause of the fire is unknown. Firefighters from the Huerfano County Fire Department, La Veta Fire Department and Upper Huerfano Fire Department are fighting the fire.

No buildings are threatened by the flames.
