Severe thunderstorm watch continues until 10 p.m.

A severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect for southeastern Colorado. It is set to expire at 10 p.m.

Some homes along Fountain Creek in Green Mountain Falls were evacuated as a precaution Tuesday evening. The evacuation was voluntary.

The Green Mountain Falls/Chipita Park Fire Department said approximately 30 homes were affected. Firefighters were worried that the creek would rise quickly due to heavy rain that fell upstream in Woodland Park.

Highway 24 remained open throughout the storm.
