Police identify suspect in deadly shooting near Palmer Park Blvd. and Uintah St.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) arrested a woman in connection to a reported shooting that happened Tuesday, March 22.

According to police, 19-year-old Raquel Chamberlain faces a first-degree murder charge. She was arrested on Friday, March 25.

Police say she's connected to the shooting of 24-year-old Tryvonne Brooks, who was identified by the El Paso County Coroner. According to CSPD, Brooks's death was ruled a homicide.

Police responded to the shooting on March 22 in the 1200 block of E. Columbia St.

Police say a report of a shooting first came in at 9:34 a.m. According to CSPD, Brooks was found dead at the scene.

This is the 14th homicide investigation in the City of Colorado Springs in 2022. The CSPD investigated 5 homicides this time last year.
