“Skate Safe for Charlie” Memorial Fund set up

A memorial fund has been established to help the family of a 12-year-old boy killed in a skate boarding accident Saturday in Colorado Springs.

Charlie Jones died from injuries he sustained after crashing on his skate board on Howard Drive.

His mom wants people to skate safely so no other family has to go through the pain of losing a child from a skating accident. That’s why she named the memorial fund, “Skate Safe for Charlie Jones.”

To make a donation to the fund, simply go to any Wells Fargo Bank location in Colorado Springs and tell them you’re making a donation to the fund for Charlie Jones.

There is a memorial planned for CharlieTuesday at the location where he crashed.

That is happening at 7 p.m. at 1418 Howard Avenue.
