Flash Flood Threat: Community Preparedness Meeting

The City of Colorado Springs Office of Emergency Management will host a resident preparedness meeting on the post Waldo Canyon Fire flood risk Tuesday, January 29, 2013.

Sanctuary at Front Range Alliance Church (5210 Centennial Blvd)

The meeting will provide education and updated information with regard to the Waldo Canyon Fire and current flood risk issues. Speakers will spend the first part of the evening addressing key issues relating to flood risk in Mountain Shadows.

Following the presentations, representatives from the following agencies will be in attendance to offer one on one opportunity for questions:

Colorado Springs Fire Department
Colorado Springs Police Department
Matt Meister, Chief Meteorologist, KRDO NewsChannel 13
National Weather Service
FEMA (Flood insurance)
US Forest Service
Colorado Springs Stormwater AspenPointe

KRDO NewsChannel 13 and Stormtracker 13 will make a very special announcement at the meeting that will affect every residence now at high flash flood risk due to the Waldo Canyon Fire.
