Updated public health order removes indoor capacity limits in Colorado
COLORADO (KRDO) -- An updated public health order that is set to go into effect Tuesday across Colorado will remove all capacity restrictions for indoor events, opening the door to packed concerts and sports games this summer.
The new guidance from the Colorado Department of Public Health comes after weeks of eased COVID-19 guidelines, and many businesses have already loosened mask requirements for those who have been fully vaccinated from the coronavirus.
Starting Tuesday, there will no longer be coronavirus-related restrictions on indoor capacities. Some venues, like Ball Arena, have already been approved for large gatherings of crowds.
However, face coverings are still required for people 12 and over in the following situations:
- Unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated students, staff, and visitors to preschool through grade 12 schools (including extracurricular activities) and child care centers and services, including camps, except while participating in outdoor activities;
- Unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated staff of Colorado Department of Motor Vehicle offices;
- Unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated residents, staff, and visitors to Prisons;
- Unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated residents, staff, and visitors to Jails
- Unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated patients, visitors, and personnel in emergency medical and other healthcare settings (including hospitals, ambulatory surgical centers, urgent care centers, clinics, doctors’ offices, and non-urgent care medical structures).
