Propane Tank Explodes Causing House Fire

Colorado Springs firefighters quickly responded to a house fire after a propane tank exploded.

KRDO Newschannel 13 crews witnessed the tank explode around 4 p.m. Saturday as they were driving by the 9300 block of Summer Meadows.

The balcony caught fire quickly and was spreading to the house when firefighters arrived.

One man was inside sleeping at the time of the fire, but neighbors knocked on his door, waking him up.

He and 3 dogs made it out of the home safe.

Firefighters were able to put the fire out before it did too much damage to the inside of the home. Officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
