Spare Tires Going Away
There is a change coming when it comes to your spare tire. Car makers are slowly doing away with them.
An automotive website says 14-percent of new cars this year came with a tire repair kit and not a spare tire.
The Chevy Cruise is one, along with some Hyundais and Cadillacs. The manufacturers say the kits cover small holes in a tire’s tread, while roadside assistance plans cover major problems. The reason, they say, is that fewer people are changing tires.
