Pueblo West Girl’s Cancer Fight, Pray For Shay

A cheerleader for Pueblo West High School found out something 3 months ago that changed everything in her life. She has inoperable brain cancer.

Shayla Sievers is undergoing radiation and chemo treatments. She’s lost her hair in the process.

At this week’s football game, The Pigskin Classic, between her school Pueblo West and rival Pueblo County, she was surprised with some special recognition.

Right after the coin toss, she, her family and fellow cheerleaders were brought to the middle of the football field. Pueblo County’s cheerleaders presented her with a gift basket and words of encouragement and support for her battle. Pueblo West’s team captains also presented her with a gift – a team jersey signed by all the players.

Shayla will find out at the end of this month how the cancer’s responding to treatment. Her family simply asks for your prayers.
