Dog rescued from running around on I-25 reunited with his owner

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Chewbacca looked terrified after he was pulled to safety on the side of Interstate 25 Wednesday, and officers wanted to help him get back home; Thursday, the dog was reunited with his daddy.

The Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region posted an update saying that "as soon as [Chewbacca] saw his daddy, he ran to the front of his kennel, tail a-wagging."

It's a far cry from dodging traffic on one of the busiest corridors in southern Colorado. We reported when the dog was seen running around on I-25 near Fontanero Street after getting loose. A few passersby were able to pull him to safety until the Humane Society could take him.

And because of the Humane Society's "Holme for the Holidays" promotion, a donation is being made to homeless pets from Bill and Debbie at Dent-Tec.
