BLACK FOREST, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Colorado State Patrol says at least two people were killed and multiple people had to be taken to the hospital following a crash Thursday on Highway 83 near Stagecoach Road.

CSP says the crash happened around 11 a.m., and at least three vehicles were involved. Hwy 83 was reported to be closed after the crash.

Troopers say the at-fault vehicle was a 15-passenger van that was stolen from a nursing home in Aurora around 9 a.m. Thursday. The man driving the van survived and will face numerous charges related to reckless driving and even vehicular homicide, according to CSP.

The two people who died were in separate cars other than the stolen van.

Some of the people taken to the hospital were children, CSP confirmed. The other victims' current conditions weren't released. No names or ages of the parties involved have been released.

It's unclear if speed or alcohol were factors in this crash. Detectives are still investigating but confirmed that the stolen van was at fault for the fatal crash.
