COLORADO SPRINGS, (KRDO) -- Colorado Springs police are searching for a suspicious driver they say hit an officer's car.

Wednesday at 1:15 a.m., a Gold Hill officer attempted to stop a suspicious vehicle near the intersection of South Wahsatch Avenue and East Brookside Street. The driver didn't comply and kept driving.

A little while later the officer was searching the area and found the vehicle parked in the driveway of 300 East Brookside Street. The man was allegedly asleep behind the wheel.

The officer waited for back up before trying to wake the man up. Police say that's when he reversed and sped off again.

In the process of fleeing the suspect struck an unmarked police vehicle causing minor damage.

No officers were injured in that crash. Police say the suspect has not been found and that this is an ongoing investigation.
