2 men arrested in connection to disappearance of woman in Kentucky
EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- The El Paso County Sheriff's Office said Saturday that two men who were wanted in connection for the disappearance of a Kentucky woman have been arrested.
27-year-old Brendan Camous and 29-year-old Clinton Peterson are both persons of interest in the 2016 disappearance of Lori Feltz in Kentucky and both were considered to be armed and dangerous.
The two men were believed to be homeless and possibly living in shacks in the El Paso, Teller, and Northeastern Colorado areas, according to deputies.
Both suspects face multiple charges including failing to register as sex offenders.
Lori Feltz was 58 years old when investigators say she went missing on a short walk to her sister's house the day after Christmas.
Family told KRDO, when detectives showed up at Camous and Peterson's nearby shack for questioning, they were gone.
In an interview Saturday, Feltz' sister Kathy Boer said she's relieved to hear the two persons of interest in her sister's case are in custody.
"It's wonderful to know that these two are now behind bars and cannot hurt other people, which I’m pretty sure is a good possibility," she said.
The family is now hoping to get some answers about Feltz' disappearance and presumed death.
"It's been way too long," Bauer said. "Now, I want to see justice."
According to court documents, Peterson was convicted in 2013 of sexual assault on a child in El Paso County. A year later, Camous was also convicted of sexual assault on a child in El Paso County.
Camous was booked into the Franklin County Regional Jail located in Frankfort, Kentucky. Peterson was booked into the Woodford County Detention Center located in Versailles, Kentucky.
