Gov. Polis gives update on Colorado’s response to COVID-19
PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- Gov. Jared Polis is giving an update on the state's response to COVID-19 Tuesday as he takes part in a day trip to southern Colorado.
Watch below:
Polis was in Colorado Springs earlier Tuesday to scope out the city's newest free COVID-19 testing site at The Citadel Mall. He then moved down to Pueblo to check out the chile harvest and meet with local leaders to discuss strategies for mitigating coronavirus.
According to Polis, there have been 57,775 positive tests for COVID-19 in the state with 1,853 deaths due to the coronavirus. He pointed out that the 7-day positivity average is about 2.89% statewide, but he added that Pueblo and El Paso County have higher 7-day averages, 4.7% and 4.2% respectively, because of a lower testing rate.
This article will be updated with new developments from Tuesday's news conference.
