Pueblo Police investigating double homicide in city’s East Side
Police in Pueblo are investigating what investigators believe is a double homicide in the 1400 block of E. 18th Street.
Pueblo Police told KRDO NewsChannel 13 that a deceased man and woman were discovered in the late-night hours of Sunday, but they do not know how long the bodies had been there.
Sergeant Frank Ortega with the Pueblo Police Department said, "that's unknown. Awhile. We're going to let the coroners assist us with his investigation."
The bodies have been identified by the Pueblo County Coroner as 38-year-old Andonia Marie Bouzos of Pueblo and 36-year-old Jesus Antonio Gutierrez, who is believed to be homeless.
No arrests have been made in this investigation.
"We have a lot of good leads. We've got some public source video that we're looking at and we're following up on stuff. Obviously, it would have been better to find out when this happened, but it is what it is. We found about it and now we're working it," Ortega said.
Police were called to the area after a landlord who rented the back building on his lot to Bouzos, called for a welfare check.
The homeowner who wishes to remain anonymous because he shares a child with the deceased said he last saw her on Thursday. He says he knocked on her door and called several times, so by Sunday he grew worried.
He says he helped police get inside the back building where the bodies were discovered.
