Facebook: Pueblo Police Department

PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) — In a Facebook post, the Pueblo Police Department announced officers recovered a stolen car after a chase early Wednesday morning.

An Acura was reported stolen earlier in the month. Police said after it was stolen, the owner’s son saw it and started following it. A person in the car fired shots at him, according to the Facebook post.

On Wednesday morning, Officer Greg Golden spotted the car and followed it until other officers got into the area.

When the Acura stopped at an intersection, they arrested the driver, Ricardo Jose Martinez.

Officer Rehan Cardona picked up the owner, and she now has her car back.

Police said they don’t know whether Martinez is the person who fired the shots at the owner’s son earlier in the month. That’s still being investigated.

Martinez was booked for Aggravated Motor Vehicle Theft, 1st Degree Trespass, RO Violation, two active felony warrants, & traffic charges.
