EPC sheriff’s office looking for theft, hit-and-run suspect
FOUNTAIN, Colo. (KRDO) — The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man suspected of stealing from a store and leading police on a chase on Tuesday.
Sheriff’s deputies received a call around 1:23 p.m. about someone stealing clothing items and automotive parts from a store located on Widefield Boulevard, according to a release from the sheriff’s office.
When deputies got there, the suspect’s vehicle drove away. The sheriff’s office said deputies quickly stopped chasing the suspect.
After crashing into a vehicle at Fountain Mesa Road and Caballero Avenue, the suspect drove away from the scene of the crash, according to the release. Deputies later found the suspect’s vehicle abandoned at Mesa Ridge High School.
The suspect was last seen on foot heading eastbound on Mesa Ridge Trail. The sheriff’s office said the suspect is a white male in his early 20’s, medium build with blonde and gray hair.
The sheriff’s office also said he has tattoos on his right cheekbone area, right shoulder, and on his right and left forearms.
If anyone has information about the suspect or remembers seeing the recovered suspect vehicle which is a black 2018 Nissan Sedan, with Colorado license plate CPJ-192, they’re asked to contact the sheriff’s office.
