The Week Ahead

Scattered showers and thunderstorms gradually coming to an end before midnight in central/southern Colorado. Turning partly cloudy with temperatures to 54 degrees in Colorado Springs and 58 degrees in Pueblo with light winds.

Monday: morning sunshine quickly turning mostly cloudy by early afternoon. Temperatures pushing 10-15 degrees above average for early June, reaching 87 degrees in Colorado Springs and into the low 90s in Pueblo. The hot temperatures will aid in afternoon thunderstorm development. It’s possible a few strong to severe storms produce small hail, gusty winds, heavy rain, and frequent lightning.

Extended: the trend of hot daily temperatures and afternoon thunderstorms isn’t budging this week. Yea it’ll put a damper on any afternoon hikes you had planned, but considering the current drought conditions in southern Colorado, bring on the rain.
