Colorado Parks and Wildlife close campgrounds until further notice

Colorado Parks and Wildlife

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) - Colorado Parks and Wildlife announced Monday that state campgrounds will remain closed until further notice.

State campgrounds closed on March 26 and reopening was considered for May 4, but that has since been extended.

In addition to campgrounds - cabins, yurts, playgrounds and picnic areas are also closed at state parks.

Hiking trails and boating at state parks remain open.

Campground reservations through May 11 have been canceled for a full refund - no action is needed by the customer.

Due to the volume of camping changes and cancellations, some refunds may take up to 90 days to process.

More information on campground reservation refunds can be found here.
