High fire danger for some
TODAY: Mainly sunny skies are expected through the first half of today, with increasing clouds following lunchtime this afternoon. It will be windy around Southern Colorado today and because of that, high fire danger is expected for places southwest of Colorado Springs. Both Fremont County and the San Luis Valley are under red flag warnings from noon until 8pm today. Winds will gust to 35 mph there. Please be aware that quick-spreading fires are likely today! An isolated storm or two is possible after 3pm today, but most areas stay quiet. Highs will be in the low 70s to low 80s, with 60s in the mountains.
TONIGHT: Partly cloudy to mostly clear with lows cooling to the 30s and 40s.
EXTENDED: More isolated storms are likely tomorrow with cooler highs in the 50s and 60s. Low 70s will be felt over the plains. We warm-up and dry out again on Wednesday and Thursday before widespread rain and storms move in on Friday. This will cooler our highs significantly and most areas will only feel temperatures in the 50s and 60s. Scattered showers and thunder remain for Saturday and Sunday, but highs should be a bit warmer.
