COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Two men were arrested after Colorado Springs police said they found multiple illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop along North Nevada Avenue.

According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), an officer first noticed a pickup truck with out-of-state license plates in the 4100 block of North Nevada Avenue on Oct. 30.

CSPD says the officer saw what appeared to be possible drug-related activity involving the truck's occupants but was unable to make contact at the time.

The following morning, around 8:40 a.m., the officer spotted the same vehicle near Garden of the Gods Road and North Park Drive. Police say two men outside the truck began acting suspiciously after noticing the officer's marked patrol vehicle.

The officer watched the area and requested additional resources. According to police, the men eventually returned to the truck and drove away.

Officers report that they later made a traffic stop in the 4200 block of North Nevada Avenue and found that both the driver and passenger had outstanding warrants.

Police say K-9 Riggs alerted officers to the presence of illegal narcotics inside the vehicle.
