Man hospitalized after stabbing in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- A man was hospitalized after being stabbed during a physical disturbance in Colorado Springs late Monday night, according to police.

At approximately 11:25 p.m. on Sept. 21, the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) says officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of S. Nevada Ave. on a report of a stabbing.

Police say they found a man suffering from a stab wound to his upper leg. He was taken to a local hospital, where police said his injuries were considered serious but non-life-threatening.

According to the CSPD, the stabbing stemmed from a physical disturbance between the victim and a suspect. Police said the suspect fled the area before officers arrived.

CSPD's Assault Unit will continue the investigation, officials said.
