Ball Arena set for estimated $135 million in renovations

DENVER, Colo. (KRDO) -- Ball Arena is getting $135 million worth of renovations that the arena's owners say will help make the venue "more comfortable, accessible, modern and fan-friendly."

Kroenke Sports and Entertainment (KSE) says the estimated $135 million worth of updates includes an expansion of the East Atrium. That includes new escalators and a new team shop, according to KSE. Officials say the project is going to be executed in phases, and they expect all renovations to be done for the 2028-29 season.

Officials say the new changes will help alleviate traffic in busier areas of the arena and shorten wait times. There will also be three new clubs, including one with direct access to reserved 100-level seating.

KSE says the upgrades come as part of the previously announced renovations to the arena's luxury suites. Those will open for the 2026-27 season on the 100 and 200 levels.

“The result of this project will be a world-class venue that offers a legendary guest experience night after night,” KSE Vice Chairman Josh Kroenke in a press release. “The Nuggets, Avalanche, and Mammoth will have a home in Downtown Denver to rival any in their respective leagues, and we will reinforce our position as the city’s top indoor space for touring concerts and other major productions.”

Ball Arena is the home of the NBA's Denver Nuggets, the NHL's Colorado Avalanche and the NLL's Colorado Mammoth. KSE's owner Stan Kroenke acquired the arena, Nuggets and Avalanche in 2000, and then brought the Mammoth to Denver three years later.
