Pep Rally Report: Bell Game rivalry returns to Pueblo

PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- The annual Bell Game is here, renewing the historic rivalry between Pueblo Centennial and Pueblo Central.

The game dates back 126 years and remains one of the biggest high school football events in Pueblo.

Central has held onto the bell for the past seven years, setting a record winning streak in the rivalry. The Wildcats are hoping to extend that streak to eight.

Centennial, meanwhile, is looking to take the bell back.

Players from both teams say the week leading up to the game is filled with excitement, tradition and school pride.

"It's probably my favorite week at Central," one Central player said.

Centennial players say the seven-year streak has motivated them to work harder and prepare for the rivalry matchup.

The Bell Game is scheduled to take place at Dutch Clark Stadium.
