A Hot and Rainy Week Ahead

Good evening, Southern Colorado!

Hopefully you found ways to stay cool on this scorcher of a Sunday. As expected, we saw temperatures soar into the 90s across the region, with some of you topping the 100° mark. It may sound like a broken record, but more heat is on the way! Don't fret, though; by next weekend, we'll be back to near-normal temperatures for this time of year.

As we head into the overnight hours expect partly to mostly cloudy skies with low temperatures dipping back into the mid to upper 60s.

*A HEAT ADVISORY WILL BE IN EFFECT FROM 11:00 AM TO 7:00 PM ON MONDAY FOR PORTIONS OF THE KRDO VIEWING AREA*

As we kick off the start of the workweek, things will remain hot, and we'll start to see increasing chances for rain. Most of the rain chances this week will be the highest during the afternoon and evening hours. While we do need the rain, what we don't need is intense amounts of rain during a short period of time. We'll certainly have to keep an eye on this, especially for those areas prone to seeing flash flooding.

Later on in the workweek, we'll see temperatures finally start to ease back into the 80s with the rain chances remaining on the menu.
