Man in hospital with life-threatening injuries after being stabbed and shot multiple times, PCSO says

PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Pueblo County Sheriff's Office (PCSO) says it is investigating a "violent assault" after a man was found stabbed and shot multiple times Tuesday night.

PCSO says a 27-year-old man was found lying on the side of the road on Highway 96 near 25th lane around 9:45 p.m. on Aug. 4. According to officials, the victim was initially thought to have been in an auto/pedestrian traffic accident, but law enforcement realized he had been stabbed and shot multiple times.

He was taken to a local hospital and later transferred to a Colorado Springs hospital, where he is being treated for life-threatening injuries, PCSO says.

PCSO detectives say they worked with the Pueblo Police Department, who initially responded to the call, and say they think the assault happened not far from where the victim was found. Officials say they also worked with BNSF Railway Police at the initial scene.

No arrests have been made so far. PCSO is asking anyone with information to contact them.
