Sizzling Summer Heat

Good evening!

It was another warm summer day across southern Colorado with even more heat on the way! High temperatures today climbed into the upper 80s here in Colorado Springs with even hotter temperatures towards the south in areas around Pueblo. We've seen a few stray showers across the region but those will continue to dissipate as we head later into the evening hours.

For your evening and overnight hours expect mainly clear skies with low temperatures in the lower 60s.

On Sunday and Monday temperatures will really start to skyrocket. High temperatures here in Colorado Springs will be right around 99° with those of you in Pueblo easily crossing into the lower 100s. Plan on mainly sunny skies during the morning hours with a few clouds during your afternoon hours. As has been the case lately, we may see a stray shower or thunderstorm but that looks to be mainly off towards the south and west of Colorado Springs.

We do have a few HEAT ADVISORIES that will be in effect for portions of the viewing area for the next few days:

Sunday- Noon to 8:00 PM

Monday- 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM

Certainly stay cool during those periods, drink plenty of water, and lather on the sunscreen. Furthermore, hold off on any outdoor activities during those times and be sure to check on your pets and the elderly. The heat looks to stick around until Tuesday which will also be our next real shot at some meaningful precipitation.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and stay safe!
