Otero County fire full contained after 4,000 acres burned

MGN

OTERO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) - The La Junta Fire Department says a fire off County Road 31 is fully contained.

The county had issued pre-evacuation warnings in Arlington and Haswell on Tuesday after the fire broke out, but thankfully everything is under control now.

Fire department officials say 4,000 acres burned in the fire. They believe the most likely cause was a spark off a vehicle from a dragging chain or hot brakes.
