Police confirm Randy Bishop is in custody

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Randy Bishop, a man who has eluded police multiple times in the last few months, has been taken into custody, police confirmed Sunday.

We came to know Bishop's name back in November when he escaped custody at Memorial Hospital after managing to wrestle away a detective's firearm and steal a car from the parking lot.

Then, earlier this month, Bishop shot at and injured a CSPD officer who had pulled him over during a traffic stop. He again was able to escape capture.

A duty lieutenant confirmed Bishop is in custody as of Sunday afternoon. Police were not immediately able to provide any more details.
