Tonight: Fire Weather Warnings in effect for the majority of SE Colorado till 8pm due to strong wind gusts, low relative humidity and dry fuels. Colorado Springs recorded a maximum wind gust today of 61mph, thankfully the winds will gradually calm down overnight. Temperatures to 30 degrees in Colorado Springs and Pueblo. No precipitation chances overnight.
Monday: Starting off the morning partly cloudy with light winds. Overall a cool and breezy day with wind gusts reaching 30mph by early afternoon. Critical fire weather will return to HWY 50 as Fire Weather Warnings will come into effect at noon. High temperatures ranging 5-10 degrees below average for mid-October, reaching 50 in Colorado Springs and 59 in Pueblo. Minimal rain/snow chances along the I-25 corridor with snow showers likely in Chaffee/Lake Counties as well as I-70.
Extended: Slight warm-up for Tuesday as temperatures return to the 60’s and 70’s with plenty of sunshine for Tuesday/Wednesday. Wednesday evening a cold front will cross through Colorado, dropping high temperatures for valley locations into the 30’s and mountain cities into the 20’s. Chance snow showers Wednesday night and Thursday morning with accumulation totals across the I-25 corridor looking relatively minimal at the moment.
