Strong to severe storms possible east of I-25 – 8/23/19

TODAY: Our weather will be quiet through 1pm and then storms begin to develop. These will become more widespread between the hours of 3 and 6pm and will likely strengthen too. Strong storms or an isolated severe storm is possible in Eastern El Paso County, with a few severe storms over the Eastern Plains. Large hail and damaging winds will be the primary threats there. An isolated tornado cannot be ruled out as well. Highs today will be just slightly warmer and should top off in the 80s and 90s, with 70s to near 80 over higher elevations.

TONIGHT: Tonight brings drying and clearing with cool lows in the 50s.

EXTENDED: Mainly dry skies are expected for the weekend, wit hot temps returning! Over the weekend stretch, Sunday looks the warmest with 100 degree temps in Pueblo and over the Plains. The only wet weather we should see this weekend will be on Saturday and will come in the form of a stray mountain thundershower.
