Mix of clouds and afternoon storms – 8/5/19

TODAY: Dry and partly sunny to start with highs climbing to the mid 80s and low 90s today. Mountain areas will be in the 70s. Storms start to pop up and drop southeast through the afternoon and evening. Severe weather is not likely but a few might become strong and drop some hail and stronger winds. Watch out for that over the Palmer Divide and over the Eastern Plains.

TONIGHT: Storms end by 9pm, if not earlier. Partly cloudy and mild tonight with lows cooling to the 50s and 60s. Places out over the eastern plains will be in the upper 60s tonight.
EXTENDED: We have daily chances for showers and storms in this week, with comfortable, summer-like highs in the 80s and 90s. The mountains will be in the 70s this week. Our days won’t be washouts but you will need to plan on afternoon and late day rain and thunder.
