Longhorn gets into downtown Colorado Springs building

It was a true “Holy cow!” moment in downtown Colorado Springs Friday when a longhorn got loose and ran at a group of people before being wrangled inside a building lobby.

“I was just coming out of a meeting at the plaza,” downtown pedestrian Ryan Finely.

It happened as the Ride for the Brand Cattle Drive was taking place downtown.

Viewer video caught by both Amber Keller and Jessica Orr shows the longhorn running through the street as crowds of people move out of the way. It eventually ended up in the lobby at the Plaza of the Rockies.

The longhorn was eventually roped and brought back under control by cowboys taking part in the cattle drive.

“Haven’t seen that downtown very often,” said witness Donene Dillow.

No word has been given on injuries.
