Flash flooding a concern for Thursday – 7/25/19
TODAY: Partly sunny skies are expected for most of Thursday before storms pick up in the afternoon. Rain will begin as early as noon west of I-25 and will drop east and southeast through the daytime. Localized moderate to heavy rain is expected and will likely create flash flood concerns through the afternoon and evening. The southern mountains are under flash flood watches through today, so areas there need to stay particularly weather aware; especially if you live near a burn scar. Urban flash flooding is also possible in areas with poor drainage. Plan on localized higher rain totals between 1-2″, with most places seeing less than that. Highs warm to the 70s, 80s and 90s.
TONIGHT: The whole state will be rain-free around 1am this morning. We are left with slow clearing through the night along with humid air. Lows cool to the 50s, 60s and 70s.
EXTENDED: Friday looks mostly dry with the exception of a stray afternoon shower or storm. Temperatures will also be a little bit warmer. Better storm chances return to the area for the weekend.
